The topics:

  • The guys explain why the show didn't go on Sunday.

  • Phil is trying out a slow rep workout that's hitting him hard. It's slow reps with low weight until failure. Soreness is involved.

  • The guys agree that political ads are getting old.

  • In fact, Phil's gotten so aggravated with the two Presidential candidates that he announced a dark horse winner of the Presidential coffee mug contest: Stephen's wife Sheralyn.

  • Stephen saw T. Boone Picken's in person. Here's Stephen's summary of that rally.

  • Daniel Nocera thinks he may have unlocked the secret of how green plants efficiently split water to make hydrogen and oxygen. This is potentially important to the Pickens Plan because solar or wind power could split water to make hydrogen that could serve to store power until its needed.

  • Phil mentioned the development of a smart utility grid.

  • Phil and Stephen believe the big contest for alternative fuels is between alcohol based fuels and compressed natural gas. Phil's leaning toward the alcohol/flex fuel solution. Stephen is leaning toward CNG.

  • Phil and Stephen might both be wrong if Blacklight power people turns out to be right. "BlackLight Power Inc. Announces Independent Replication of New Energy Source."

  • Perhaps the oldest human tissue still functioning today - a cornea transplanted into a man 50 years ago - is now 123 years old.

  • We have a special show coming up this Sunday. It will be a preview in a way of Convergence '08. Our special guests will include Christine Peterson and P.J. Manney.

Our front bumper is a sample of Marginal Prophets' "The Difficult Song."

Our exit music this week is from Brannon Hedgooth and Friends. The song is "She Took Me Nowhere."
