Wacky Energy Sources

Pond scum is only the beginning. Over on L2si, you've got your choice of wacky energy sources: do you want power from sugar or power from water? If it works, I think the latter will be the way to go.

But that's a fairly sizable "if."

Comments

Well, it's not power from water. you don't get net energy from a closed thermodynamic cycle (eg, start with water end with water). Something is providing the energy input (and it's not the water) assuming the power system isn't bogus.

The welding flame might have some loose oxygen in the flame. It can't be much otherwise the welding flame would be much hotter when things like charcoal or human fingers are inserted.
