An appeal to our readers from the Sargent family...
Today I received a very nice email from Michael Sargent's mother Judy Sargent. The family is, of course, still grieving for Michael, but there is an additional tragedy. Her words:
... During the services and arrangements for Michael's funeral Mass etc., we lost a large suitcase full of photo albums, scrapbooks, and other memorabilia pertaining to Michael's entire family historoy. We belive that the suitcase was first inadvertently misplaced and then stolen by someone either in the Marriott hotel we were staying at in Colorado Springs or in that parking lot on Friday night, March 27, 2009. The loss has been reported to the official hotel channels... The Colordao Springs Police Department have also filed a missing/stolen property report concerning the material. Advertisements will be placed in the Colorado Springs papers/flyers/etc...We are offering a reward for the retlurn of the material/s. Our hope is that it will come back to us intact but the reality is that it may have been disposed of as trash... We just want any of the material back that can be found and returned to us by whatever means. The favor I am asking it that if any of Michael's Speculist friends could help me spread the information about the lost materials to as many sites as possible, we would be most grateful. Antique family photos and historic original WWII candids of Michael's grandfather were in the collection. His sister is devastated by the loss of her only sibling and big brother. The loss of such a significant part of her family history only compounds her grief and sense of loss.
If you have any information about this suitcase please either leave us a comment or email us at speculist1@yahoo.com.
Thank you.
