The topics:
- Phil saw Mama Mia. The guys agreed that sometimes you go to movies to score points as a husband or a father. This is one of those. Or if you're an Abba fan, don't miss it.
- Harvey won our "Solve a World Problem / Win a Coffee Mug" competition. He wins one of these babies:
But if you're not Harvey, there's no need to feel left out. These mugs are now available to everyone.
- Stephen's in San Antonio. He shared a few vacation photos.
- Stephen described the lighting of the Olympic flame. It was incredible:
- We'll talked about how the Robust Golden Rule could show China the way forward.
- Tales of the Paranormal. Phil read an email that was sent to Jerry Pournelle. Is it possible that our best fighter pilots have the ability to see a short distance into the future?
Phil mentioned the book, On Intelligence.
Commenter "OKDavidRay" said "DARPA research seems interested in leveraging subconscious "thinking ahead" by artificial amplification.
- Lastly we talked about Dr. Robert Zubrin's recent response to T. Boone Picken's wind/natural gas energy plan.
Zubrin believes going flex-fuel with our autos is the best idea. We believe Zubrin is right, but that electric is another big piece of our transportation future. And, of course, wind can be a part of the electric picture.
Dr. Zubrin was our guest on this show earlier this spring.
Our front bumper is a sample of Marginal Prophets' "The Difficult Song."
Our exit music this week is from Jeff MacDougall . The song is "A Brief History of Pudding."
