I know a few Muslims and they are pretty decent folk. I don't think that it is the religion that is the problem, but rather some of the tribal cultures in the middle east. It is these cultures with the Sharia courts that will do things such like sentence a woman to prison or a public flogging for being raped.

Moderate Muslims need to stand up and denounce acts of terror, but thus far, they have been conspicuously reluctant to do so.
Queen Rania of Jordan is a cool lady, probably the figure from the Middle East that interfaces the most with the Western world.
Like the Bible, for the Koran, there are interpretations that encourage violence, and those that don't. In both instances, they take knowledge that is over a thousand years old, and freeze it in an unmodifiable form.
