FROM PHIL: Of course, in addition to being widely known throughout the blogosphere as one to deposit bits of wisdom (and incredible groaners) in the comments section of other people's blogs, Triticale had his own blog. This entry announced his illness; the comments section includes well-wishes, the news of his passing, and condolences and remembrances of him.

What a shock, and what a loss. I really don't know what to say.
He could crank out puns with the best of of them. And he was a real friend to The Speculist. He'll be missed, indeed.
