Remodeling El Jef, weeks 2, 3, & 4

Household projects and other obligations are keeping the "Goals and Gadgets" discussion slow-rolling for now.

The project, however continues. A summary and graphic follows after the break.

PROGRESS REPORT(S):

Week 2

The “One Number” View
In the week ending Friday, February 2nd, 2007, I’m down a total of 4.0 pounds from my starting weight of 231.8. Again, I’m about 8% ahead of my planned progress.

The Breakdown
Over the same period Percent Body Fat (%BF) and Percent Skeletal Muscle (%SM) are heading in the intended. %BF is almost back to my starting point at 36.0% and %SM is at 29.6%, both 0.3% lower than initial measures. I’m still up 0.6834 pounds of fat and down the same amount of muscle.

EVALUATION:
Good progress.

Week 3 (week ending February 9th, 2007):

Overall weight: 225.6 pounds. (Net loss since start: 6.2 pounds, this week’s loss: 2.2 pounds, ~ 181% of planned amount.

EVALUATION:
26% ahead of planned progress and continued gains on the Body Composition front.

Week 4 (week ending February 16th, 2007):

Overall weight: 226.4 pounds. (Net loss since start: 5.4. This week’s loss: - 0.8 pounds. Uh-oh.

Composition: 35.1%BF (down 0.5%), Body Fat Wt. 79.5 pounds (down 2.3 pounds), 30.2%SM (up 0.4%), Skeletal Muscle Wt. 68.4 pounds (down 0.7 pounds).

EVALUATION:

Taking a look at the long-run trends (click on the chart below for a larger version), I don't see any reason to panic yet. I think I'll stick with what has been working so far ('fell off the wagon' a bit around Valentine's Day...) and console myself with the fact that my "Bowermaster-Strickland Critereon" (see the Comments on my "Week 1" post) is still giving me positive feedback.
