Comments Back Up
Comments are working again. Thanks for the head's up, Kathy.
UPDATE: Wait, is it "head's up" or "heads up?" Or maybe "headsup?" Anyway, it's an important phrase -- if you're writing a poem and you need a word to rhyme with "catsup," it's about as close as you're going to get.

not if you call it ketchup :)
I understand that it is a command to be alert given to multiple people. The 'up' isn't owned and the heads aren't 'being' to invoke the contraction with 'is'.
So
Heads up!

On top of a tower with catsup
I fumbled the bottle and yelled
"Heads up!"
My cry was ignored
and the crowd it was floored
When the Porche that I hit was messed up.
Okay, okay, not so good. But YOU try finding something better that rhymes with catsup and "heads up."

The rhyming is fine, but for some reason, I think the car should be a Volvo. Or maybe a Saab.
(This is the kind of useful commentary that people give in creative writing workshops.)
