Thanks for Stopping By

We haven't done a traffic report lately, so I thought it was time for an update. January was our second biggest month ever at The Speculist, if you don't count the infamous traffic surge from the blonde joke. We had more than 42,000 unique visitors and more than 170,000 page views.

Here's the breakdown:

Looks like we're on track to beat that record in February, with more than 40,000 visitors at the halfway point. I'd like to see us hit 75,000 -- tying the level of the blonde joke only with people visiting (presumably) for more Speculist-type content. But we won't get ahead of ourselves just yet.

Anyway, thanks for reading The Speculist and be sure to tell all your friends about us!

Dude - How does the RSS feed work with regard to visits, etc.? I get my daily dose of Speculmania via the feed and hit the site only when I have something breathtaking to grace your readers with.

For instance, does anyone know what Randy Jackson means when he says "Good Lookin' Out"? I thought it meant "good looking outfit" but he says it to people who are clearly not sharply outfitted or even dressed for success. So what up, Bro? Is he commenting on the size of posterior assets? He usually says it to contestants as they walk away from him. I'm looking to your highly tuned readership to crack the code.

Of course, I could just google it.

Dude,

Of the top four "pages" visited on this site, three of them are the RSS feeds, so that accounts for a good deal of our traffic.

The Randy Jackson thing is a little harder to answer. However, having never watched American Idol (is that the show we're talking about?) I would guess that "good lookin' out" means about the same as "y'on y'own." Or as old Yon Yone used to say, "good luck!"
