Can you fire weapons when this thing is engaged? That always seemed like a serious drawback to me.

Can you fire weapons when this thing is engaged? That always seemed like a serious drawback to me.

In the Star Trek universe they could not but that might be because they use energy weapons powered from the same source as the cloak.
Perhaps if they used missiles (with their own little cloaks) they could do some real damage.

Yes, you could fire weapons while cloaked with a microwave shield, but you couldn't do it while popping a bag of popcorn. Sorry.
Randall asked his commentors for some ideas on how a microwave cloak could be used for nonmilitary purposes. One commentor had a great idea. On prepackaged microwave meals you could cloak part of the meal (salad/dessert) to keep it cold while the rest of the meal got hot.
