"Naturally, we were all curious..."

Well, of course they were. This makes me think two things:

1. Google must be a pretty fun place to work.

2. What could you do with a really big quantity of that stuff? Industrial sized. Could you make furniture out of it? A house? A swimming pool?

This according to some vague memory of mine:

Awhile back the silly putty people had an anniversary for their product. Could have been 50 years. Anyway, they pull out a big block of one of the original batches and divided it up into eggs and sold it at a premium.

Bottom line: silly putty doesn't harden or lose its silly puttyness over time. 1000 years from now, there's a fair chance it will still be silly putty.

Also: The silly putty people have apparently mastered the art of dividing big blocks of silly putty. :-)
