Stoneage Disco

Anthony at ArchaeoBlog comments on the discovery of 1000-year-old human remains near Salt Lake City. The find was made when three 13 year-old-boys were digging a pit to make an underground hangout.

The plan was to dig a hole 6 feet deep, 10 feet long and 6 feet wide, equip it with couches, an audio system and a disco ball and cover the top with boards...

a disco ball??? Serious intervention is needed here...

...or perhaps innoculation against "Boogie Fever." This had nothing to do with the future, but it was too good.

UPDATE (from Phil): Au contraire. This has everything to do with the future. These kids are the future. As long as they had some feeble hopes (not necessarily plans, mind you) of luring girls into their disco-lair, I think the future is looking just fine.

These are 13 year old boys. The disco ball must be a cast-off, meaning someone has given up on the return of disco, surely a victory for civilization.
