Step One
Via GeekPress, here's a neat plan to power a lunar colony with moon dust. This could be an excellent first step in our long-range plan to address the world's energy problems via Helium-3 mining.
By way of full disclosure, I should point out that the Helium-3 strategy is itself part of an even more ambitious plan that Stephen and I have to take over the world.

Hmmmm . . . shouldn't we get the whole fusion thing working first, before we start drawing up plans for Helium-3 mining operations? Not that I wouldn't like to see this happen, but we're putting the quadruped before the wheeled-conveyance a bit, aren't we?

Well, granted, it would be pretty embarrassing to start full-scale mining operations and then not be able to do anything with the stuff. But I think it's probably a good idea to plan and even work on these things in parallel.

I understand that the reason helium-3 fusion is still theoretical is that its rarer than hen's teeth here on Earth.
We may have to go on faith until we have enough from the Moon to begin testing. The scientists seem confident that it'll work:
