Question for the Day
How thick would a sheet of this stuff have to be in order to close off a cargo bay -- so that you could then flood it and turn it into a temporary home for a couple of humpback whales?
If this question is meaningless to you, please try to stay on top of the really important stuff.

Comments
If my calculations are correct, (I'll spare everybody the details...) it should be on the order of 1 millimeter.

Well, then transparent steel is clearly a lot stronger than transparent aluminum -- they needed an inch of transparent aluminum!

They didn't use transparent aluminum to make the tanks for the whales. Scotty traded the transparent aluminum formula for sufficient 80's vintage materials to do the job.
...its a wonder I ever got a date, isn't it?

Now there's some authority!
